Adebayor set to remain with Arsenal

Soccer Betting Lines

07/05/2009 - London, England (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - It seems that Emmanuel Adebayor will still be at Arsenal in the new season despite recent reports linking the Togo international with a summer transfer to AC Milan.

The 25-year-old was rumored to be heading to the San Siro last summer before eventually committing his future to the Gunners.

The Rossoneri recently confirmed their renewed interest in the player and were said to be willing to offer Mathieu Flamini in part-exchange for Adebayor.

However, Adebayor's representative, Stephane Courbis, told The Observer when asked whether his client would be leaving Arsenal: "No, no."

When asked if the striker definitely wanted to stay at the club, Courbis added: "Yes. It's the same as last week."

Earlier in the week Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger said of Adebayor's chances of staying at the Emirates Stadium: "If he doesn't want to stay, he will leave. But I think that he will be still at Arsenal this season."

Adebayor has scored 62 goals in 142 appearances for the Gunners following his arrival from AS Monaco in January 2006.
