01/05/2010 - (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Minnesota Wild will try to avoid a fourth straight loss tonight in a matchup at the United Center against a Chicago Blackhawks club that has won three straight and eight of its last 10 at home.

The Wild were dealt a 5-3 setback by the Devils on Saturday, losing three straight for the first time since a four-game slide from November 12-18. Minnesota had won five of seven before this skid and sits 11th in the Western Conference with 43 points.

Eric Belanger, Mikko Koivu and Andrew Brunette scored versus the Devils, while Niklas Backstrom allowed four goals on 25 shots. Marek Zidlicky recorded two assists in the setback.

Koivu scored for the first time in eight games, but did extend his point streak to six games. He has an assist in each of those contests with one goal and seven assists total on the run.

"We felt like we played a pretty solid game. Obviously, the goals that we gave up were pretty bad mistakes by us," said Wild center Kyle Brodziak. "You just have to shore up some of those. That's one of the best teams in the league; if you don't make a few of those mental mistakes, you get the win."

Minnesota hits the road for one game before returning home for a four-game homestand. The club is 8-13-2 as the guest this year.

Chicago, meanwhile, has won nine of its last 11 overall and improved to an outstanding 19-4-1 at home this year with Sunday's 5-2 victory over Anaheim. The Blackhawks have won three straight and eight of their last nine at the United Center.

Marian Hossa had his second two-goal game of the season in Sunday's win and first since his Chicago debut on November 25.

"I think it's getting better," Hossa said about the production of his line, which also includes Andrew Ladd and Patrick Sharp. "We weren't happy how things were going for a few games, and we talked about it a little bit and tried to communicate a little more on the ice."

Jonathan Toews, Troy Brouwer and Kris Versteeg each scored in the win, while Antti Niemi made 22 saves. Patrick Kane, named the NHL's Third Star for the month of December on Monday, notched two assists to run his point streak to eight games. It is the longest active streak in the league and has featured seven goals and seven helpers.

Chicago owns an eight-point lead over Nashville for first place in the Central Division and is tied for the NHL lead in points with San Jose with 61.

The Blackhawks lost three of four to the Wild last year, but kicked off the 2009-10 season series with a 3-1 home win on October 26. Kane scored in the victory, while Cristobal Huet made 20 saves to improve to 3-2-1 with a tie and 1.98 goals-against average versus the Wild.

Niemi has never before faced Minnesota.

That loss was just the Wild's second in their last eight trips to Chicago. Brunette scored Minnesota's lone goal and Backstrom made 32 saves in falling to 3-3-0 with a 2.02 GAA lifetime against Chicago.
